Workshop Description:
If you dream of taking your music beyond the
shower, you’ll want to do it right. In this workshop, you will learn how
to structure songs, create “hooks,” craft lyrics, manipulate melody,
rhythm and harmony, merge words with music, and write toward genre. You
will also learn how and where to market your work. Whether you favor pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, country, music, lyrics, or both, we’ll show you how to write songs that soar.

Charlie
Mangold is an accomplished musician, songwriter, arranger, and
producer. He is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and
holds a degree in jazz composition. Recently, Charlie produced tracks
for former American Idol contestant, Jamar, Rogers, and coaches singers who were selected to audition for NBC's The Voice. Charlie
collaborates extensively with legendary producer, Phil Ramone, (think
Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Carly Simon, Madonna et al.) and has written
and/or performed with Sheryl Crow, Sinead O'Connor, and Chaka Kahn. He
was also a published songwriter for Geffen music and has won the John
Lennon songwriting award. Charlie plays and teaches bass, drums,
guitar, and piano and often coaches vocalists and bands.
